Overview

Why this research matters.

Transportation intelligence should not be defined by technology alone. My work also studies the behavior, injury outcomes, professional capacity, and institutional needs that shape how mobility systems serve people.

Earlier crash-severity work used ordered and unordered logistic models to examine pedestrian injury outcomes in Victoria, Australia, while related work studied factors associated with urban transit-bus crash severity. These studies keep vulnerable road users and interpretable human factors at the center of the analytical agenda.

My workforce research extends the human-centered lens to the institutions responsible for infrastructure. An ongoing Washington study combines 47 employer responses and 917 practitioner responses with topic modeling to identify succession risk, recruitment and retention barriers, and opportunities for experiential, technology-aware engineering education.
